YouMe Hamburg

Head: Christine Philippsen Brass teacher: Mariola Rutschka, Organization: Claudia Klemkow-Lubda   The YouMe! - Youth Symphony Orchestra has a long tradition at the State Youth Music School Hamburg, which dates back to the 1970s. Marius Bazu led the orchestra over many years until his sudden death in the fall of 2005. In the summer of 2006, Christine Philippsen became conductor and last year the YouMe! with his team Christian Hamburg (wind teacher), Mariola Rutschka (woodwind teacher) and Claudia Klemkow-Lubda (organization) already 10 years YouMe! under the direction of his conductor.   Over the past few years, the orchestra and its team have managed to create a wonderful young and dynamic team of about 80 members aged 10-20, who show a willingness to face up to musical challenges on a weekly basis. To see how they develop personally, overwhelmed again and again. With the big city opera "Morning Has Never Been", the ensemble and its conductor were able to inaugurate the newly opened Miralles Hall in 2011.   Rehearsal weekends and trips to home and abroad, such as Invitations to the Youth Orchestra Festival in Norway 2008, to the "Megahertz Festival" to Linz 2009 and to the "Allegromosso Festival" to Italy 2012, round off the orchestral work.   A special highlight was certainly the participation in the first edition of "China INN - 1st Young Orchestra Festival Hamburg - Shanghai". In this context, the orchestra first welcomed young Chinese musicians in Hamburg in 2013 and then traveled to Shanghai for a return visit in 2014. In addition, the lively exchange with a youth symphony orchestra from Basel / Switzerland, which has existed since 2007, lies with YouMe! especially at heart. The most important gathering was the promotion of young talents and the integration into a social network are always in the foreground next to the music.
