The Jugend Sinfonie Orchester Biel / Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Bienne (OSJB – JSOB)

The Jugend Sinfonie Orchester Biel / Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Bienne (JSOB-OSJB) was formed in 2005. It’s composed of fifty music enthusiasts  from Biel and surroundings. The young and talented musicians can gain experience playing under professional musical supervision, artistically directed by Lionel Zürcher. With the aim to discover the classical repertory, from baroque to modern classic as well as contemporary compositions, the orchestra realizes innovative projects such as concert tours, participation at festivals and productions in collaboration with choirs, dancers and literature.  At the 13th European Youth Music Festival “At the Watergate” the orchestra plays two Slavic dances by Antonín Dvořák, the Miniature Suite by Eric Coates and music from the Walt Disney film “Aladdin”, written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice.
