In 1986, the Music School of the City of Pinneberg celebrated a successful 10th anniversary - the foundation of the Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in the same year it performed for the first time with a small cast under the direction of Giesela Grothkastn the ensemble under the direction of Anneliese Schwalke to a symphonic ensemble. What began as a string orchestra, was gradually enriched by brass instruments and finally percussion. The resulting symphonic greatness and its tonal possibilities of expression exert a special attraction on young instrumentalists The conductor Maike Mechelke has always integrated new young musicians, which is one of the educational challenges due to the age structure of a youth orchestra And the development continues: In recent years, the conductor has been able to continuously raise the level of the orchestra Since its founding, the JSO Pinneberg regularly with ever new programs in Pinneberg and the surrounding area and has participated several times in the European Youth Music Festivaln A great award for the ensemble! The program: At this year's festival, the JSO will present not only the concert for two clarinets by Carl Stamitz and the Hungarian dance rn 5 by Johannes Brahms, but also film music: The Jungle Book - the music to Walt Disneyn's beloved animated flair.The highlight of the program is a composition, which was especially composed for this festival: the "Revolt Suite" by the young Hamburg composer Frederik Sturmn.
