The Dance Group of the School Municipal de Musica y Danza bajo the direction of teachers Maider Urrestarazu and Coral LÛpez-Castellanos make it up students that go from the 12 to the 17 years, works both repertoire classical, neoclassical and workshops creation where are the own students who make and choreograph the pieces. Since 1995 he has participated in the Sample of Schools of Basque Government, in performances organized by the Association of Dance Professionals Guip˙zcoa, from the finery Academics held annually; has performed at the Teatro Principal with Lienz Chang, first dancer of National Ballet of Cuba and ballet star of the Ballet de Marseille, as a guest dancer and the Young Ballet of Chamber of the Alicia Alonso Foundation, in the Kursaal of San Sebasti · n, in Lasarte, Ir˙n, Getxo, Deba, Usurbil, Andoain. The pieces presented range from Don Quixote, Giselle, Esmeralda, Paquita, Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, The Corsario, La Bayadere, to those choreographed by the group's directors: ìGottanî, îHaizea "," Olimpycs ","Canzoneta", "Women", "Gottshalk", "Txoria", "Spanish Dance", "Rhythm", "Alamar" and Workshops as ìPezzo in the form of Sonatinaî and "Inspiration", interpreted and choreographed in its entirety by the students. The dance group has made shows directed to the children's audience: "El Mundo de la Danza", premiered in May 2000 and "Christmas Count", premiered in December 2001, with a total of 10 performances who have been able to see about 1,200 children. Posed as pedagogical functions, they intend to approach and explain the dance from its origins, trying to promote from childhood the interest in dance and create future spectators. He has also collaborated in the choreography and interpretation of musicals such as ìLa MisiÛnî, ìMamma Miaî, and in the Opera ìLa Cerentolaî directed by Eduardo Portal in the musical direction and Paolo Panizo in the direction scenic with the Lusica Opus Group.   Within a collaborative project with the Department of Social Welfare of the City of San Sebastian has been offered such shows in various Centers of 3 ™ Age. Students of Classical Dance of the School have obtained scholarships from the Provincial Council of Guip'zcoa for the expansion of studies at the Alicia Alonso Superior Institute, in The Place, London, Theater Institute Barcelona, Professional Conservatory e Burgos; Vìctor Ullate School and Carmen Roche School. In the currently a large number continue with their professional career as both dancers and teachers, overcome with excellent qualifications the Higher Dance Degree and Masters in the Performing Arts.
